Psychotherapy, Yoga & Coaching in Karlsruhe – for people who carry a great deal — and feel exhausted beneath the surface.
My name is Antje Schmauz, and at YoSelf – Yoga, Therapy & more in Karlsruhe, I work as a Certified Non-Medical Practitioner for Psychotherapy (Heilpraktikerin auf dem Gebiet der Psychotherapie), supporting people who carry significant responsibilities in everyday life, appear strong on the outside, yet often feel emotionally drained, restless, or overwhelmed beneath the surface.
My work brings together psychotherapy, Integral Yoga Therapy, coaching, and body-based approaches to support people experiencing stress, persistent low mood, anxiety, challenges related to neurodivergence such as ADHD, and psychosomatic symptoms.
I combine body, mind, and nervous system in a way that is professionally grounded and genuinely human. My approach is calm, structured, and compassionate, creating a space where you are met with openness, respect, and without judgment. There is room for clarity, humor, and authentic human connection.
A place to pause rather than keep pushing through.
Perhaps this feels familiar: From the outside, life keeps moving. You meet your responsibilities, keep things running, and do what needs to be done. Yet inwardly, things may feel increasingly tight, exhausting, or unsettled.
Perhaps your body has been trying to get your attention for some time. Perhaps your thoughts never seem to slow down. Or perhaps it has become difficult to truly come to rest, even though that is exactly what you are longing for.
At YoSelf in Karlsruhe, you will find a safe and confidential space where you do not have to achieve anything before you arrive.
My primary focus is on working together in person. Psychotherapy and coaching are also available online via a secure, GDPR-compliant video connection.
We’ll begin by making sense of what is weighing on you and exploring the patterns that may lie beneath it. From there, you’ll develop greater inner stability and discover ways of responding to life’s challenges that feel more sustainable and more aligned with who you are.
Who my services are for
My services are for people who:
- carry a great deal in everyday life while feeling emotionally exhausted beneath the surface.
- are experiencing ongoing stress, overwhelm, or the early signs of burnout.
- live with anxiety, persistent low mood, or emotional distress.
- would like to better understand and navigate neurodivergence, including adult ADHD.
- notice that emotional strain is beginning to affect their body through tension, sleep difficulties, or psychosomatic symptoms.
- are looking for greater inner stability, clarity, and a stronger connection with themselves.
- value an approach that considers body, mind, and nervous system as part of one interconnected whole.
How I work
- ✓ Clear and structured You'll always know where we are in the process and why we are taking a particular direction.
- ✓ Attentive and collaborative You will be met with openness, respect, and genuine curiosity. My role is not to judge or prescribe, but to support you in discovering what is helpful for you.
- ✓ Integrative Rather than focusing on individual symptoms, I look at the connections between your experiences, your body, your nervous system, your resources, and your everyday life.
- ✓ Body-informed Movement, breath, and body awareness are not separate from therapy. When appropriate, they become part of the therapeutic process itself.
- ✓ Human Growth doesn't have to happen through pressure. There is room for humor, warmth, and moments of relief, even when we are working with difficult topics.

Psychotherapy, Yoga, Coaching and more in Karlsruhe
Finding the right place to begin.
Whether you’re looking for psychotherapeutic support, coaching, Integral Yoga Therapy, or preventive health programs, the first step is understanding what you need.
Choosing the right approach is part of working responsibly.
Psychotherapy
A space to better understand what is weighing on you, strengthen your inner stability, and develop new ways of responding to life’s challenges.
Integral Yoga Therapy
A therapeutic approach that combines conversation with movement, breath, relaxation, and body awareness to support both emotional and physical wellbeing.
Coaching
A structured and forward-looking space for gaining clarity, navigating change, and making decisions that feel aligned with who you are.
Movement, Prevention & Wellbeing
Supporting your health before life asks you to slow down.
Through yoga classes, Core Training, relaxation, mindful movement, and health-focused programs, I help people strengthen resilience, reduce stress, and invest in their long-term wellbeing.
Why my approach is holistic
Stress, anxiety, emotional exhaustion, or persistent low mood rarely affect just one part of our lives.
They influence the way we think, feel, move, sleep, work, relate to others, and experience ourselves.
That is why I work integratively.
Rather than looking at symptoms in isolation, I bring together psychotherapy, Integral Yoga Therapy, body-oriented approaches, and nervous system regulation to better understand the whole person.
The aim is not simply to reduce symptoms, but to create lasting change by strengthening inner stability, self-awareness, and the ability to respond to life’s challenges with greater flexibility and confidence.
What neurodivergence means in my work
A diagnosis can provide valuable answers. It does not define who you are.
Neurodivergence describes natural differences in the way people think, perceive, learn, and process the world around them. This includes ADHD, autism, and other neurodevelopmental profiles.
My aim is not to change who you are. It is to help you better understand how your mind works, recognize both your strengths and your challenges, and develop ways of working with your nervous system rather than against it.
Every person is unique. A diagnosis may help explain part of your experience, but it never tells the whole story.
My work begins with the person, not with the diagnosis.
About me
Antje Schmauz – Certified Non-Medical Practitioner for Psychotherapy (Heilpraktikerin für Psychotherapie), Yoga & Coaching in Karlsruhe
At YoSelf – Yoga, Therapy & more, I have created a place where professional expertise and genuine human connection come together.
My work brings together psychotherapy, Integral Yoga Therapy, coaching, and body-oriented approaches in a way that recognizes each person as a whole. I believe that meaningful change begins with understanding ourselves more deeply—not only through conversation, but also through our relationship with the body, the nervous system, and the way we experience everyday life.
Why I work the way I do
Movement. Breath. Body awareness. These aren’t additions to therapy. They are part of the therapeutic process itself.
Yoga changed me. Not because I had planned for it. And certainly not because I expected it to. It changed the way I see myself. It continues to help me become more fully myself, every day. As I changed, so did my understanding of therapy.
Conversation remains an essential part of my work. Understanding patterns matters. So does recognizing emotions, developing new perspectives, and finding words for experiences that may have remained unspoken for a long time. But over the years I came to realize that conversation alone is not always enough. Our experiences are not only held in our thoughts.
They are reflected in our breathing, our posture, the way we move, the way we respond to stress, and the way our nervous system learns to protect us.
That is why I work integratively. Psychotherapy provides understanding. Integral Yoga Therapy brings the body into the process.
Together, they create space for change that can be understood, experienced, and integrated into everyday life

My qualifications
My professional background brings together psychotherapy, coaching, yoga, and health promotion.
Over the years, these different paths have come together in an integrative approach that combines professional expertise with real human connection. Rather than relying on a single method, I draw on different disciplines to support each person as an individual—with clarity, respect, and a deep appreciation for the connection between body, mind, and nervous system.

Frequently Asked Questions
Starting psychotherapy, coaching, or Integral Yoga Therapy often comes with questions. Below you’ll find answers to some of the questions I am asked most frequently. If your question isn’t listed here, please feel free to get in touch.
No. Many people seek support long before a diagnosis becomes relevant. Sometimes people are looking for psychotherapy because they are experiencing emotional distress or psychological symptoms. Others are simply looking for clarity, support during a difficult period in life, or a better understanding of themselves. If you’re unsure which approach is right for you, we’ll explore this together during our first conversation.
The answer depends on your individual situation. Psychotherapy is appropriate when emotional distress, psychological symptoms, or mental health conditions require therapeutic support. Coaching focuses on personal development, decision-making, life transitions, and future-oriented goals. Choosing the right approach is part of working responsibly. If psychotherapy is not the right fit, I will tell you. If coaching is not appropriate, I will tell you that as well.
Integral Yoga Therapy combines therapeutic conversation with individually selected practices such as movement, breathwork, relaxation, meditation, and body awareness. Unlike traditional yoga classes, every session is tailored to your personal situation, your health, and your therapeutic goals. It is not about performance or flexibility. It is about supporting regulation, awareness, and sustainable wellbeing.
No. Integral Yoga Therapy does not require any previous yoga experience, flexibility, or physical fitness. All practices are individually adapted to your needs and abilities.
Yes. Psychotherapy and coaching are available online via a secure, GDPR-compliant video platform. Many people appreciate the flexibility of online sessions, while others prefer meeting in person. Together, we’ll decide which setting best supports your situation.
Most individual sessions last 60 minutes. If a different duration would better suit your individual needs, we can discuss this together.
There is no standard answer. Some people benefit from a small number of sessions focused on a specific issue. Others prefer longer-term support. We will regularly review the process together and decide what feels appropriate for your situation.
Yes. Confidentiality is a fundamental part of my work. Everything we discuss during our sessions is treated with the utmost respect and in accordance with the applicable legal requirements regarding confidentiality and data protection.
Yes. Life happens. If you need to reschedule an appointment, please let me know as early as possible. Appointments cancelled at short notice may be subject to the cancellation policy outlined in the Terms & Conditions.
The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another. You don’t need to prepare anything in advance. You don’t need to tell your whole story during our first meeting. We’ll begin where you are. Together, we’ll explore what brings you here, what you hope for, and which form of support is most appropriate for your current situation.
As a Certified Non-Medical Practitioner for Psychotherapy (Heilpraktikerin für Psychotherapie), my services are generally paid for privately. Depending on your insurance plan, private health insurance or supplementary insurance may reimburse part of the costs. Please check directly with your insurance provider before beginning therapy.
That is completely understandable. Finding the right therapeutic relationship is important. If you’re unsure, feel free to get in touch. Sometimes the first step is simply having a conversation. And sometimes that is enough to know whether the next step feels right.
My current fees are listed on the Services page.
The first step is a free 20-minute introductory phone call, followed—if you decide to continue—by an initial consultation and assessment.
Psychotherapy and coaching sessions are €99 for 60 minutes. Fees for preventive programmes, workshops, and courses vary depending on the format.
I run a private practice, so appointments are paid for directly by my clients.
Psychotherapy provided by a Certified Non-Medical Practitioner for Psychotherapy (Heilpraktikerin für Psychotherapie) is exempt from VAT, while coaching and preventive services are subject to the applicable VAT rate.
Payment is usually made after each session unless we agree otherwise.
Get in touch
Sometimes the first step is simply reaching out. Whether you’re considering psychotherapy, Integral Yoga Therapy, coaching, or one of my preventive health programs, you’re welcome to get in touch if you would like to learn more or arrange an initial appointment.
There is no obligation. Just an opportunity to explore whether working together feels like the right next step.
Before our first conversation
You don’t need to prepare anything. You don’t need to know exactly what to say. And you don’t need to have everything figured out before reaching out. We’ll begin where you are.
Appointments
Appointments are available by prior arrangement. Sessions take place in person at my practice in Karlsruhe or online via a secure, GDPR-compliant video platform. If you’re unsure which type of appointment best suits your situation, I’ll be happy to help you find the most appropriate starting point.

An important note — for your health and peace of mind
My services are part of a holistic approach to health and wellbeing. They are not a substitute for medical examination, diagnosis, or treatment, and visiting my practice does not replace consulting a physician.
Some symptoms, diagnoses, or concerns require medical assessment or specialist support. Where symptoms are unclear, persistent, or raise questions that fall outside my professional scope, a medical evaluation may be an important first step. In other situations, another healthcare professional or specialized service may be the more appropriate point of contact.
Working responsibly is an essential part of my practice. During our first conversation and throughout the initial assessment, we’ll discuss together whether additional medical or specialist evaluation would be helpful—or, in some cases, necessary—before or alongside our work together.
